Datuk Hj Mohd Taib Hassan - Chairman of MAFB during his opening speech on 2nd Off Site Meeting of Voluntary Industry Access Code dated 7th of April 2010 in Corus Paradise Port Dickson.

By recognizing critical roles of telecommunications and information sector by Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission it is with great ambitious that this Access Code which being develop in regulating matters concerning Access and Interconnect shall bring balance document that ensures competition is promoted in the communication industry and at the same time the long term benefit of end -user is protected.

Whilst, the compliance to the code is not mandatory, Malaysian Access Forum Bhd desires that all codes subjects will apply and comply to ensure its potency as an effective self regulation instrument.

We are in an industry that is technology evolving at a fast pace, hence we, the members of the industry, are best able to ensure that regulation of the communications industry is in keeping with the changes.

Hence fourth, being an Independent industry forum , it is the objectives of MAFB in developing, formulate and make recommendation of the access list to the Commission for determination and the access code for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia industry, including revising, modifying and updating the access list and access code from time to time and to seek the registration of access codes and access list with the Commission..

let us all together indulged with full diligent on matters which will affect or arise of the issues involving access and interconnection with open heart, thus the sprite of collaboration within the members will never be shatter.
